Life's too hectic to write, but here are some fall photos. Have a beautiful week! It's warm and sunny in NYC.

POWER TO THE PEOPLE
I'm still looking for a good yoga studio and came by these news; If you're short on cash and still want to get your yogi on, Yoga to the People offers classes that are donation-based. So you can practice all you can power vinyasa for pennies. And for hot yoga fans YTTP has studio on 27th St. where you pay just $7 for classes.

After work I had an appointment at De Novo European Day Spa for their Grand Classique Facial. I took advantage of Spa Sally's $25 Tuesdays deal. Normally this service runs for $110, but thanks to Spa Sally, I paid just $25. How awesome is that! I also bought second corrective facial for $75 (still, real price $110) that I'm going to use next month, right after my period like my esthetician recommended. These photos were taken about an hour after the treatment so excuse my face... There was a lot of extractions to do.Yoga to the People, 12 St. Marks Place, 2nd Fl.

Feeling a little better now. Not 100% just yet, but about 90%. Emergen-C, Sambucol and Ginseng-Green tea with lots of chopped ginger have been my remedies and today was my first day back at work since Thursday.

HALLOWEEN MEMORIES
Since I'll be in bed rest this Halloween (flu), I'm going to share some photos from my past Halloween celebrations. For the past 3 years we've been attending the Village Halloween Parade marching in the parade. It's so much better than standing in the crowded sidewalks.
The Power Posse is in town! Let's partay! It's gonna be a smashing night, luv! It all started so well...
The first few paparazzi shots went well. Amy was giving her best and even tried to crack a little smile here and there...
Crowd was amazed by her presence, but Amy didn't feel like paying much attention to them. Ordinary people. She was on her way to nowhere and determined to get there. Fast.
Here we go again, yet another paparazzi shot...
The soulful songtress quickly started to show signs of disapproval. Let's get the f outta here! Paparazzi just doesn't get the hint... I'm gon come there, take that f****n camera and stuck it up your...
Cops were called to calm down the aggressive and upset singer that had turned violent against paparazzi. Only in New York. And sometimes in L.A. And quite often in London...

FALL FEELINGS
Fall is... Natural soy wax scented candles, pureed vegetable soups, stews, afternoon walks admiring the colors of the nature, boots, chai tea with honey from the Farmers Market, evening at home with "him" in front of the fireplace watching silly comedies, decorating home and just simply taking care of myself, him and most importantly us.

SUNSHINE MAKES ME NOT WANT TO GO TO WORK.So I don't.
"He" lost our camera (somewhere in the house) so I have no photos of these gorgeous fall colors around us. It's sunny today after days and days of raining. It would've been perfect day to go to the mountains for a little hike and then attend the Oktoberfest celebration by the lake. Beer or two and some waffles with whipped cream and strawberries. I miss that. We did it few times, but missed it last year due to sudden death in the family.
My babies enjoying the warmth in the sunroom.
I will start the day with some training on my elliptical machine and then big bowl of homemade fruit salad. Pineapple, watermelon, grapes, apples and peaches. Keeping it healthy. Just in case we end up going to the Oktoberfest later...

REPUBLIC WITH CHILDHOOD FRIEND
I think social networks such as Facebook and Twitter are great tools for lot of things. As a wanna-be event planner they offer gateway to reaching people and advertising events happening around the city. This way it is easy for my friends to see what I'm thinking about doing and which events I'm planning to attend and give them quick event details, so they can decide if they would like to tag along or not. Other amazing thing that happened since I discovered Facebook is connecting with people from over 20 years ago. Like this week I had surprise visitor from Finland, one of my best friends through grades 1-6 with whom we somehow lost connection when we went to different schools. It's been 14 years since we saw each other.
It was so great to see her. It would be fun if she moved here (we talked about it too). I can't believe how many little details I still remember about her and her family and I just feel very comfortable around her. We went for some late lunch at Republic in Union Square.
Republic has very fresh take on Asian food and it mixes Malaysian, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese flavors and cooking methods. Decor is minimalistic with high ceilings and huge photography art on the walls. There is communal seating that is suppose to encourage socializing with strangers, but the noise levels in this place are almost unbearable. I read quite a few reviews about this place and most of them mentioned the noise (I guess due to the type of ceiling and walls the space has). We went here around 3.30pm and very few people were there, but the noise was already pretty high. I can just imagine how it gets during peak hours. We had some salads (delicious dressing!) and fried tofu. Big portions for under ten bucks each. I recommend, but only for take-out or delivery...
Talk about republics, another event I invited her was Banana Republic's birthday event at their Rockefeller Center store. They served cupcakes and champagne and everything was 25% off. They also gave a gift bag that included their new fragrance. Banana Republic is one of my favorite stores, I love their dresses, skirts and shirts.

CHAI, I'M BACK
I stopped drinking chai while back when I realized it could cause my skin to break out (at some point you get paranoid and think everything you do, eat and drink causes breakouts). Well, my skin still does so I've decided to start drinking it again. Plus the weather's been nothing but rain. Chai, just as scented candles, bring warmth and comfort in my simple little life.
I saw this lovely chai recipe here and I started making it at home in the morning and bring it with me to work in a thermal bottle so I don't need to spend another fortune at Starbucks. My mornings just got so much better. :) Plus this week is going to be sunshine and warm temperatures so universe is smiling at me. Have a lovely week! Read it in Finnish here.

THINGS WOMEN DO FOR BEAUTY
I've been taking advantage of the Pretty City's Pretty in Pink campaign (breast cancer awareness) where beauty places offer services for $31. What a great price! Last week I went to Salon Ziba for the protein treatment and cut for my hair (it was about the time... Last haircut was probably over a year ago...). I loved the scalp massage that came with it, so heavenly. And Elionora gave me wonderful blow dry. This makes me consider starting to go getting my hair blow dried before big events such as job interviews and parties. It makes such huge difference with my look. This week I went to Blue Light Acne treatment at Bioskinergy at Central Park West.
First of all I got to say it was hurting like hell. It felt like the laser was burning the crap out of my skin. I wiggled a little because it was so uncomfortable. And the best part is that I don't think it actually did anything. The lady said that it would be good to do the treatment once a week (yeah, if I was millionaire and masochist, one treatment costs $250 regularly). I don't think I'll ever do that again. I also asked her about the laser hair removal and if it felt the same as this, and she said yes. Aaargh! Because I really wanted to do that, would make life so much easier not having to worry about extra hair in weird places...
Happy Saturday!

ARM CANDY
Fall is definitely here. It feels great to wear sweaters, boots and scarfs again. I'm not a friend of cold and winter is my least favorite time of the year, but I'm liking the fall time. The atmosphere is romantic and colors so vibrant. Wednesday I attended the Arm Candy Party at the gorgeous Phyto Universe (botanic hair care salon and spa) that boasts 2,850-square-foot “vertical garden” made entirely of tropical plants in its 6,000-square-foot space. The evening was about few glasses of champagne, bag designers and gift bags. Sorry, no photos from the party. I concentrated on gulping down the sparkling.

Look at this spa It's like some secret garden type place, so serene and tranquil.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone! Mine starts today and it includes exercising, installing new energy star qualified windows in our living room and TV room and maybe some fall shopping (need booties...). Take care and keep warm!

DIY DAY
Cold, sterile sunroom. No sunny feel at all.
Our little helpers.
We've spent the entire day finishing up our sunroom. We installed laminate flooring that imitates the hardwood floor we have throughout the rest of the house. Project total was around $500 which was much more than we'd expected to pay, but the end result is so worth it. Also it was really easy to do. The sunroom now feels like part of our house when before it was uninviting and cold extension. Sorry I have no photos of the end result, I will put it up on the next posting.
Happening this week in NYC: Beauty Sample Sale & Bag Trends Arm Candy Party . RSVP necessary. Free drinks and samples.

I LOVE WORK-RELATED SOCIAL EVENTS
Here are few photos from the concierge event held Thursday at the NBC Experience Store at Rockefeller Center. There were raffles, giftbags, open bar, tons of food, frozen yogurt bar by Red Mango (delicious, I had 3 cups...), dessert bar (chocolate fondue), guacamole & chips bar (he made your guacamole fresh in front of you from ingredients picked by you), sushi bar, funny photo op (mine was with E.T. but I look such dork that I don't think I'll post it...) etc.
It was great event and our liaison Carlos informed us about two other events going on this month that I'm sure to attend. Ok, now off to cook something warm. Our house is freezing, but don't want to turn on the heating just yet... It's only October!

PRETTY IN PINK
Just a quick note before going to bed (got to love the 5am wake up calls). It's time to pull out the warm fall clothes out of the storage, weather has gotten cold in the Northeast. I got few of my sweaters out and already found one with a big hole in the middle of the chest. Awesome moths. Got to love them. This weekend I'm going to put away the summer stuff and take out the winter stuff. I hope I don't find more holes. Not in a mood for shopping basics.
I also wanted to remind that Pretty City has great promotion called Pretty in Pink going on during the month of October in selected beauty salons around the US that offers services for $31. I already booked Protein treatment, cut & style (normally $60) at Salon Ziba for tomorrow Thursday and Blue Light Acne Treatment (normally $250) at Bioskinergy for next week. It's for a great cause and I really needed some beauty treatments. Starting to look a little rough... My dry rocker hair. Not to even mention my bad skin. Although I'm seeing some improvement since switching to mineral make up and bunch of herbs and vitamins, but I'll tell you about it later.

Tomorrow I'm attending another Concierge event that's held this time at the NBC Store in Rockefeller Center. Food, drinks, Studio tour, Top of the Rock and prices. It's going to be fun. Have a happy weekend!
